Grade R Coding & Robotics Lesson Planning Term 3 (PDF)
Term 3: Problem-Solving and Design
- Focus: Promote problem-solving and creativity through more complex patterns and algorithms.
- Highlights:
- Design and build robot models that perform tasks.
- Learn about repetition and debugging in coding.
- Use data to create graphs and enhance interpretation skills.
Each lesson plan follows a standardized format that includes: objectives, learning outcomes, required resources, activities, and assessment. Activities include games, creative building projects, and pattern recognition to develop creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Please note that the Robotics lesson plans are unplugged. This means the activities do not require computers, tablets, or any other electronic devices. Learners use paper, pictures, cards, blocks, dance movements, and other physical resources to explore concepts such as coding, sequences, repetition, and robotics.
Although there are references to digital skills and concepts like “input–processing–output,” these ideas are taught through play-based and thinking activities — not through the use of digital devices.
