Fables: The Two Crabs
Esopus’s fables have long been used to teach children lessons about moral values and ways of life. A fable is a narrative where animals act like humans to convey important life lessons about human weaknesses and follies.
The moral of a fable focuses on what is right and wrong in human behaviour, examining the good and bad qualities of people.
Ideal for the following Activities:
- Story Comprehension: Listen to the story and share your opinion about it.
- Listening Skills: Listen without interrupting the speaker, take turns speaking, and ask questions for clarification.
- Storytelling: Tell a familiar story with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
- Questioning: Answer both open and closed questions about the story.
- Role Play: Act out different situations from the story.
- Oral Presentation: Give an oral presentation by retelling a familiar story in your own words.
- Short Story Creation: Tell a short story with a simple plot and various characters.
- Predictive Skills: Use visual cues like pictures and book covers to predict the story’s progression.
- Identifying Key Details: Identify important details in the text.
- Creative Writing: Plan, edit, and present your own story of at least two paragraphs (minimum of 12 sentences) for others to read.
